For the past 94 days we have lived in a bubble of sunshine, enjoying the good life in Samara Costa Rica. We have walked a million steps barefoot on the beaches, spent time crashing in the waves, made new friends and embraced the Pura Vida life. It feels like we have been here for a very long time and a very short time.
Reflecting on each moment it reminds me life has a way of slipping through our fingers, like grains of sand. We often get so caught up in the now, the march of time, that we forget the most precious gift we’ve been given: the people we love.
Each of us has a once-in-a-lifetime chance to connect, to share our hearts, to create memories that will echo through the years. These moments we have together are fleeting, irreplaceable. They are the true treasures in this world, more valuable than any material possession.
I look back on the times we’ve shared—the laughter, the tears, the quiet conversations, the boisterous gatherings—and my heart aches with a mixture of joy and longing. Those moments are etched into my soul, a testament to the beauty of human connection.
But life, in its chaotic dance, often pulls us apart. Old friendships fade into the background, not out of malice or neglect, but simply because we let the currents of our lives carry us away. We convince ourselves that there’s always tomorrow, always another chance to reconnect. But the truth is, life is unpredictably fragile, and tomorrow is never guaranteed.
We will not wait. We will reach out today. We will pick up the phone, send a message, make plans to meet. Reignite those old friendships, nurture the bonds that have meant so much. Let’s share our lives entrenched in love, cherishing every moment we have with each other.
We are given this one extraordinary gift of life, a singular journey where our paths have crossed for a reason. Let’s honour that gift by making the most of our time, by ensuring that our hearts remain intertwined despite the chaos that surrounds us.
But first coffee!
